The city tour will start with a visit to the Piazza del Duomo, Battistero, Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, Campanile di Giotto and the Palazzo Strozzi. The tour continues to the Galleria dell’Accademia.
Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Lungarno, Santa Croce and the Cappella dei Pazzi.
Visit the Galleria degli Uffizi and the Mercato di San Lorenzo, where you can find traditional Florentine leather.
Discover the Chianti area. Transfer via private motorcoach to San Gimignano and visit to this small medieval town. During the tour we will visit a wine cellar and traditional oil mill. After lunch, transfer to Siena.
The tour of Siena includes the historical center Piazza del Campo where all important events take place, such as the Palio di Siena (horse race), Cappella di Piazza, Palazzo Pubblico, the Duomo and the Mangia Tower.
In the morning transfer to Arezzo where you can admire the Piazza Grande. Once the main marketplace of the city, it is currently the site of the Giostra del Saracino (“Joust of the Saracen”). You can see the Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici, the Logge Vasari, Palazzo Vescovile, Santa Maria della Pieve, the Cattedrale dei Santi Pietro e Donato, Basilica of San Francesco (13th-14th centuries). Transfer to Agriturismo in the countryside, at 600 meters in altitude, immersed in a Natural Park easy to reach from Assisi, the country house is part of an agricultural farm. You will get to know all the activities of a real farmhouse, from the managing of the animals and the visits to the laboratory.
In the morning visit Assisi. You’ll visit Basilica di San Francesco, close to the ancient city walls, with its magnificent frescoes painted between the 12th and 14th centuries and Santa Maria degli Angeli named after its church inside which, in the Cappella della Porziuncola, St. Francis died in 1226.
Full day trip to Gualdo Tadino and Gubbio. City tour with your Tour Leader. In the afternoon free time in Gubbio.
Perugia is a well-known artistic centre of Italy. The famous painter Pietro Vannucci, nicknamed Perugino, was a native of Città della Pieve near Perugia. He decorated the local Sala del Cambio with a beautiful series of frescoes; eight of his pictures can also be admired in the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria.
