DAY 2: WALKING CITY TOUR IN MADRID
A first tour of the city by sightseeing bus and walking tour in Plaza de España and Gran Via.
A great way to get a first overview of the city. The Gran Vía is a street in central Madrid: it leads from Calle de Alcalá to Plaza de España. The street, sometimes referred to as the “Spanish Broadway”, is one of the city’s most important shopping areas, with a large number of hotels and large movie theatres. -
DAY 3: OLD MADRID
Today the focus of the visit is the Old Madrid: Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, Calle Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and the Palacio Real. Visit to Museo del Prado and walking tour with your tour leader in Calle de Toledo and Cattedrale di San Isidro.
The Royal Palace of Madrid and the buildings and monuments of the Paseo del Prado (Salón del Prado and Alcalá Gate) deserve special mention. They were constructed in a sober Baroque international style, often mistaken for neoclassical, by the Bourbon kings. -
DAY 4: BOURBON MADRID
Walking tour from Calle de Alcalà to Plaza de Cibeles.
Calle de Alcalá is also one of the oldest streets in the city. It was the old road which led to the city of Alcalá de Henares (from which it takes the name) and continued to Aragón; today, this route is covered by the A-2 motorway.
The fountain of Cibeles is found in the part of Madrid commonly called the Paseo de Recoletos. This fountain, named after Cybele (or Ceres), Roman goddess of nature, is seen as one of Madrid’s most important symbols.
In the afternoon you should visit Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, mainly dedicated to Spanish art, or visit to Parque del Buen Retiro, the largest park of the city of Madrid. -
DAY 5: HALF DAY TRIP TO ESCORIAL
Half day trip for visit Escorial Palace. Transfer via private motorcoach.
Tour of El Escorial: a historical residence of the king of Spain, in the town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, about 45 kilometres (28 miles) northwest of Madrid. It is one of the Spanish royal sites and functions as a monastery, royal palace, museum, and school.
Return in Madrid in the afternoon, free time or walking tour with our tour leader.
Enjoy a Flamenco dancing night in Madrid’s legendary tablao or other similar location! -
DAY 6: TRANSFER TO ROMA AND FOUNTAINS TOUR
Morning flight to Rome and hotel check-in.
Walking tour through the town center, from Piazza di Spagna to Piazza Navona, where you can see these masterpieces: Piazza di Spagna, and the Trinità dei Monti, Palazzo del Quirinale (seat of the President of the Italian Republic), Pantheon (tombs of the most important Kings of Italy), the Fontana di Trevi, Fontana dei Fiumi. -
DAY 7: ANCIENT ROMA
Historical and artistic itinerary among the vestiges of Roman culture, discovering architecture, painting, sculpture which left an unforgettable trail all over the world: Foro Romano, Colonna Traiana, Arco di Tito and the Colosseo, symbol of the city.
Walking city tour with our tour leader in one of the most famous fashion district in the World: Via Condotti and Piazza di Spagna. -
DAY 8: CITTA' DEL VATICANO
Today the highlights of the tour are: Castel Sant’Angelo, Città del Vaticano, San Pietro and Musei Vaticani, Cappella Sistina, Piazza del Campidoglio. Free time or walking tour with our tour leader: Castel Sant’Angelo and Tevere embankement.

DAY 9: THE CATACOMBS OF ST.CALLIXTUS
Half day trip to the catacombs of St.Callixtus, the greatest and most important of Rome. They originated about the middle of the second century and are part of a cemeterial complex. In it were buried tens of martyrs, 16 popes and very many Christians.
They are named after the deacon Callixtus who, at the beginning of the third century, was appointed by pope Zephyrinus as the administrator of the cemetery and so the catacombs of St.Callixtus became the official cemetery of the Church of Rome. -
